What It Does
QUOSA DocFlow (Integrated Document Delivery) gives you and other users seamless and immediate access to your collection of journal articles acquired through document delivery and makes ordering articles via document delivery quick and painless.
DocFlow works in conjunction with the Virtual Library to provide the following functionality with the main goal of eliminating duplicate document delivery orders:
- Users searching for journal articles outside of QUOSA (e.g. using a Web browser to search in OvidSP, PubMed, Embase, Scopus-wherever your link resolver is integrated) see a “get document” link associated with hits in the results set. When users click this link, DocFlow will check the Virtual Library and present available articles directly to the user.
- If the desired article is not in the Virtual Library, QUOSA will complete the document delivery order form with the corresponding citation information so that the article may be ordered. DocFlow is integrated with Reprints Desk to submit orders automatically. When these orders are filled, DocFlow will retrieve the articles from the document delivery vendor and publish them directly into the Virtual Library in a manner compliant with the article’s copyright.
- QUOSA Information Manager users may also order documents from Information Express Online and Reprints Desk from within QUOSA. These orders will also be delivered directly to the Virtual Library for immediate access via Virtual Library Plus.
- DocFlow Integrated Document Delivery manages the document delivery process directly within the article search workflow. It helps you keep all articles acquired through document delivery in one place to eliminate duplicate orders and ensures that article seekers have immediate access to a complete article collection.
