ARTICLE GALAXY RELEASE NOTES
Admin UI Redesign –
The admin user interface (UI) has undergone a face lift. While the same functionality exists, there are two major enhancements:
1. A ‘Dashboard’ page (Click: Home>Dashboard) - This view enables you to have immediate access to our knowledgebase where you can Get Help, Request Service & Feature Enhancements, Give a Compliment or Constructive Criticism, and Discover What’s New. It also provides you with 'Quick Links' to many resources, i.e. Feedback, Integrations, Release Notes and your Account Settings.
2. An ‘Account Settings’ page (Click: Home>Account Settings) - This view enables you to see which core account settings are enabled on your account. Additionally, you can learn about the features that are not currently enabled and request more information.
For a Quick Reference Guide on the Admin User Interface, click here!
Office Hours –
For accounts that mediate rather than enabling users to self-service, office hours is a great tool. When this feature is enabled it will give the ability to have a different workflow based upon times an admin is in the office vs. when the admin is not.
When an admin is in the office, requests will come into the office hour order queue and hold for a client admin to process (i.e. upload and deliver via the Reprints Desk system or forward to Reprints Desk to source and deliver). While a client admin is not in the office, the order is processed as normal, based on account configuration and settings (Article Shelf, Holdings, OAF and tokens are checked, if activated).
DOI/Pubmed ID on Single Article Order Form –
Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and PubMed identifier (PMID) fields have now been added to the Single Article Order Form. While a DOI or PMID are not required, they can be used to quickly order items without typing any additional citation information into the other fields. When a DOI or PMID is used, Reprints Desk will append available citation details for enhanced reporting. Coming soon, the DOI and PMID fields will also be used to instantly auto-populate the order form with citation details prior to submitting the document delivery request.
Supplementary Materials –
Users sometimes require supplementary materials such as datasets, figures and tables that don’t appear in the article or PDF, but rather accompany the final version of a scholarly paper. If you believe supplementary materials are available for a document, simply reply to your order delivery email and we will retrieve the supplemental materials at no extra charge. If you would like us to update your order delivery email to mention this for your end users, then please let us know!
When this feature is enabled Reprints Desk captures and stores citation data for all orders placed on the account. When future orders for a duplicate citation are requested we will put the order on hold and forward a notification to the user, the administrator, or both. Future enhancement will contain “who order the item” and “the date the original order was completed.” If you are interested in this feature please contact us to see if it is compatible with your account settings and to get a price proposal.
Batch Processing and Delivery–
We now have the ability to “Batch” requests, meaning if you would like to submit a large group of single article requests and receive a single order delivery with zip download. Additionally, these articles will be renamed with the following default naming convention of the first 30 characters of the title followed by the OrderID number, for example: Coffee consumption in the Unit_OrderID-123456.PDF. There are added costs to this service and it will result in delivery delays compared to our standard services.
Transactional Credit Card Processing –
While we have always had the ability to process credit card payments on an account at month’s end, we are now able to charge credit cards transactionally for each request that is delivered. Transactional credit card accounts are at the account level, so all users under that account will need a credit card on file to process requests. Credit Cards can be added and removed by the user and multiple cards are allowed. After each successful transaction the user will receive a credit card receipt for each document that is delivered. All credit card information is stored securely for your peace of mind!
NEW Federated Search Option –
Powered by Knimbus, our new federated search tool option enables users to search across multiple online databases and publisher sites accessing over 60 million records. Search results are aggregated, ranked and de-duplicated. Search results can be filtered and/or further searched to drill down to the most relevant results for the user. Finally, with the ‘Get article from Reprints Desk’ button citations will quickly auto-populate the Article Galaxy Single Article Order form for easy ordering.
Please note: Paid custom options are available and can include up to 322 commercial targets which represent a major percentage of peer-reviewed, published research available in the world (close to 60,000 Journals).

Sunshine Act Reporting for Literature Distribution–
We have the capability to help capture cost and other information that is important to report for (Sunshine) regulatory purposes. We have various ways of integrating both for MedInfo Responses and Sales and Marketing use. We integrated with different workflows that accommodate CRM and marketing automation systems (i.e. Veeva, Marketo, etc.). Our Sunshine solution is not a one size fits all approach so we are happy to work with you to figure out what the needs are and solutions for any workflow, system and data capture issues.
