SPECIAL REPRINTS DESK ALERT
We’re writing to inform you of changes to the Article Galaxy document delivery order form that will go live for most customers at 11:00pm U.S. Eastern Time on Friday, August 14. We’ve been working hard on these improvements over the last several months so are excited to share this advanced preview (see below) of the latest innovations in document delivery.
We encourage you to contact us and to register/attend one of our special town halls dedicated to answering any questions and addressing any concerns that you might have about the upcoming August 14 release.
(Note: web services, email-only, and language localized order forms, RapidILL and ILLiad will NOT be impacted)
- Auto-population of order form fields using digital object identifiers (DOIs) or PubMed IDs (PMIDs). This will enable users to verify that any DOI or PMID accurately pertains to the paper of interest before submitting the order form.
Optional type ahead functionality to save time for users in identifying and adding accurate publication names within the corresponding Publication field. Users will still be able to type in any information they’d like within this field and will not be forced to select from our directory of suggested publications.
- Optional account configuration for replacing the “Place Order” button with a “Check Availability” button. For accounts that have activated price estimates, users will see a "Check Availability" button instead of a "Place Order" button below the citation information screen. Clicking this will take the user to a new Availability and Pricing Information page prior to order placement.
- Enhanced pricing information on the new Availability and Pricing Information page. For Article Galaxy customers that choose to display pricing, users will now benefit from new price display logic. This will supplement current copyright pricing and account-specific service fee information, providing consideration to subscription content, customer repositories, and re-use rights.
- Quick “in browser” downloads directly from the online Availability Information and Pricing page once a user submits their document deliver order. Users will still receive the Order Confirmation and Order Delivery emails for reference and to easily re-download the article. However, the new Quick Download option will now provide users with instant gratification by being able to view desired content when they want it. For many publishers our Article Galaxy system will quickly pull the requested PDF from the publisher’s servers, document the transaction, then serve the PDF up to the user while they’re within the Article Galaxy user interface.
